This is one that I know I’ve been working around with my own hand rolled memory systems for a while. Before this change Cowork didn’t have access to the shared memory you got when you used claude.ai, which meant you had to make trade offs on the tasks you were doing and either roll your own memory system (like I and many others had done) or accept each session had no memory on it but had the benefits of Cowork.
I’m reserving judgement on how well it works, but seeing how it structures the individual memories and lets you inspect and manipulate it does give me some hope for this model. It’s definitely worth looking at if you’ve been working around that shared memory limitation for Cowork.
